Great shooters are able to adjust from their last miss. I see it all the time - A player on the verge of being a good shooter, miss the same way 3-4 shots in a row. Sometimes it’s a mechanical issue, but in most cases it’s a focus issue. Elite shooters never miss the same shot, the same way, twice in a row ‼️
The Kneeling Roll-Up Drill: A game-changer for mastering the 3 key shooting positions and the finer details that build a great shot. For young hoopers, this is far more effective than just jacking up shots with bad habits. Take the time to do it right—practice this drill kneeling at home,(100 reps per day) focus on your form, and create muscle memory. Build a solid foundation first, and you’ll see the success in your game for years to come. Great shooters are built from the ground up! We lay that foundation for thousands of hoopers in our shooting programs - click the link in bio to get started with us ✅ Share this drill with a young hooper who needs it 👍🏻 Zay’s Shot looks nothing like this on 10ft - but working towards it daily + him understanding the details makes a difference long term ‼️

We had the opportunity to teach shooting to 65 Youth Hoopers yesterday! We worked on all the small details of shooting step by step! Teaching a good base that holds our power/balance/ control as a shooter will always be at the top of my list ‼️ The lateral hop drill over an object (towel) forces players to be light in their feet + gets them used to dropping at the hips once their feet contact the ground. Give it a try with a young hooper to start building their base + power creation
Moving Advanced Youth Ball Handling Warm up to start a workout. Challenges handle, footwork , ability to play wide , and change levels‼️ Share it with a young hooper 💪🏻
Young players need more single hand work ‼️ Share this with a young player who needs it ✅ Most guide hand issues stem from shooting hand issues! If a players struggles to shoot through the middle of the ball, it’s almost a guarantee the guide hand will over compensate. Guide hand involvement is probably one of the biggest issues with youth players. Mainly due to lack of power - but also lack of understanding/detailed work like this ‼️ Removing the hoop for young players is almost always the best way for them to understand key details + allows them to get good reps - that creates good habits ✅ Take a few steps back - and build from the ground up for lasting results 🙏🏻
A lot of NON shooters on here giving out game on how to become an ELITE shooter 🤦🏻♂️ That shooting from 1 spot or 5 spots continuously won’t improve your shooting in game. This is a reminder to run your own race. I shot 500 makes+ daily like this from 4th grade to college and statistically became one of the best shooters on 🌎 Spot shooting was probably 75% of my shooting training (And skilled/worked on other areas) This approach worked for me. (Maybe it doesn’t for you) Everyone’s development approach is not the same and does not have to be. I also did it with a thumb flick 🤯 Just be careful that you don’t get really good at NOTHING while trying to complicate things. If you can’t make 9/10 or 50 in a row from one spot, or your overall % in practice is less than 80%, spot shooting is not beneath you, even if your trainer says so‼️ Don’t be afraid to do something over and over and over and over and over again and get really good at it‼️
