Storytime: I got an email 7 years ago from someone with my same last name telling me they make custom suits and tuxedos for athletes if I ever needed one. I never wear suits or tuxedos since im not a player anymore so l just forgot about it!! Fast forward to it getting closer to wedding time and for me im like... this is the biggest moment of my life.. there's no bigger celebration than who you choose to spent the rest of eternity with.. where am I gonna get my suits?! I didn't want to just go into a store in the mall it felt bigger than that but I had no clue where. So then I remember this random email I had forever ago from @cloogiebarnett @tombarnettny I get on a call with them and in the next week there in my house helping me create my dream tuxedo/suits.. and.. One of the COOLEST parts of the whole wedding planning process for me was being able to print these letters inside. When they said they could customize the inside it made me think about what sentimental in my life could I put in there. Some people put photos.. I thought what about letters I have from my partner??? And that was it!! Done! My wife didn't see or know anything about my tux or looks until the day of, and it was one of the best moments of the whole weekend getting to show her and others that her letters were inside my jacket. I'll remember that moment forever, and I will wear this jacket and tell this story forever.. and couldn't have done it without the help of the best people at @tombarnettny. If YouTube continues to be the place where most are consuming in their living room, and they have it feel synonymous with Netflix, and consumers start looking at it like their “Netflix”, well then we have some realllyyyyy fun moments for creators in the future. If the world is now consuming a free for all platform, with anyone being able to upload anytime, then the competition comes down to who makes the best content and can get the world to consume it. Yes that’s currently what’s happening now, but what happens when a creator decides to release a 12 part show leading up to a marathon, or building a farm, or trying to find love. There’s going to be lots and lots of new “shows” that will be creator led, creator launched, and created paid that will be in americas living rooms taking the place of big network and big funded shows. TikTok is testing the same “collab” tool that has been super popular on instagram.
