Of course club fitting is important, but once they are fit to you this is how your irons should sit for most players. Due to the shaft flex/bow at impact it kicks the toe down. Forcing the hands up also puts the wrists in compromised (excessive ulnar deviation) positions and they cannot hinge effectively. Some are quick to point to a player such as Bryson that doesn’t fit this mold. He is a very unique case and if you have to point of one or two individual players they are the minority, not the majority. Note, for this video these shafts are x-stiff and the irons are 2° flat (and the toe is still up at address). . Code BRYCECOPE24 for 20% off @StitchGolf . #golf #golftiktok #golftips
To be clear, takeaway is not everything. You will see some different takeaway positions work extremely well for different players. However, a very large majority of high level players will settle somewhere near this position, the club may be slightly more inside or outside but it won’t be too far off from this spot. If you can hinge properly and keep the face square early you’re setting yourself up for success. . Absolute trip of a lifetime, the year wait was well worth it. There was no partnership or affiliation involved on this pne but I do want to shoutout Links Golf St. Andrews for putting this together. Incredibly nice group of people involved and they have the ability to book singles on the Old Course which was huge. #golf #golftiktok #golftok
