Wolves don’t bark like dogs do. Ocean here who is a wolfdog demonstrates beautifully the wolf ‘puff’. It’s a subtle quiet puff bark that warns the pack of danger without alerting the enemy. Over time as wolves integrated themselves into human settlements perhaps for more easy food, man started to select the puppies with the noisiest bark as it was beneficial to him to have a warning system. Now we can’t get our dogs to stop barking! I personally prefer the discreet puff bark. Some low content wolfdogs do bark though, especially if they’ve been around dogs. Had to post this. Very good example of how wolfdogs and wolves work in a pack. They muzzle when they discipline which tells the other wolfdog off but doesn’t injure him/her. A wolf cannot have an injured pack mate. Many dogs have lost the ability to muzzle and just bite or fight these days which is sad.. Glad Midsommar Friends 💙 from the beautiful and mystical Lanyon Quoit in Cornwall. This reel took a lot of effort as I filmed the majority of it with my own tripod and camera. It’s way harder filming two wolfdogs than one, especially when hikers kept popping up to spook Ocean who is a little skittish. A real life film set. St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall UK is one of the country’s most beautiful landmarks. Since a child I have visited this small island accessible by a pathway which goes underwater at high tide. It’s one of the most beautiful and magical parts of the uk so to film this with my wolfdogs is pretty special for me. Just make sure to get up at 5am to do it before the tourists arrive. St Michael’s Mount has a matching cousin in France called Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy. I still have to go visit the French counterpart.
