🍲 This is the first WFP-supported kitchen opening in the area of Beit Lahia, in the north of #Gaza. This kitchen serves over 20,000 hot meals per day to families who are moving back to that area. Hundreds of thousands of people are going back to where their homes are in the north and WFP makes sure food follows people in their relocation. ➡️ Since the ceasefire, WFP has reached one million people with a full range of assistance, including food parcels, hot meals, fresh bread and nutrition supplements.
🚨 Famine is tightening its grip on #Sudan. 📍Wad Madani, one of 27 areas at risk of famine, was once-thriving trade and agricultural hub connecting Khartoum with the Blue Nile. You would never imagine that a place known for its cotton fields, wheat, and peanuts, and home to the second biggest public university in Sudan, could be facing starvation. ➡️ In December 2023, WFP lost access to the city due to escalating conflict. But in January, as control lines shifted, we secured safe passage within a week and delivered three convoys of life-saving food to people who had been cut off from help for over a year in Wad Madani. These convoys carried enough food to sustain 100,000 people for one month. A continuous flow of aid is critical.
📍#Ukraine. WFP food boxes 📦 reached two villages in Kharkiv region, just 11km from the front line. This assistance supports communities affected by the conflict especially during winter months.

❄️ This winter, when hunger bites harder in #Afghanistan, 15 million people, one third of the population, are facing severe hunger and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance to survive. WFP is often the last lifeline for women struggling to afford basic nutritious food for their children, while debilitating restrictions push them further to the fringes of society. However, WFP is only able to support 6 million of the most vulnerable people. WFP’s support in Afghanistan is critical.
🚨More than a week on since the escalation of violence in eastern #DRC, water and food supplies are running low for families trapped by the violence. Affected families face destroyed homes, inaccessible fields, and rising food prices. Thousands need urgent food, water, shelter and more.
Here are 4 ways WFP is stepping up its support in #Gaza 📦🥘 The needs in Gaza are immense. The ceasefire offers hope, but recovery will be a long and challenging road. #LearnOnTikTok
