Saltwater croc explosive snapping to hand feeding and tail pets!! All within about 20 mins too! These animals are so much more intelligent than people think!! Training such apex predators is truly an honor and I love every second of my life, it’s so amazing to be living my dream!! Saltwater crocs are the largest living reptile in the world!! I can’t wait to get her out of the temporary enclosure here once her actual enclosure is built and really see her athleticism!! That’s probably a few months away, but wow it’s so cool to see how well she can jump! Saltwater crocodiles are the largest living reptiles on Earth, with males reaching lengths over 20 feet and weighing more than 2,000 pounds. Native to Southeast Asia, northern Australia, and surrounding regions, they are powerful apex predators capable of taking down prey as large as water buffalo. Despite their name, saltwater crocs don’t meed salt and live in both salt and freshwater habitats, including rivers, estuaries, and coastal swamps. They have the strongest bite force of any animal. #salty #saltwatercroc #croc #animals #reptile #dangerous
Alligator hunting strategies! Gators often employ this sweeping method when underwater to try to catch fish! This is a video of Casper from several years ago at Everglades outpost, which has sold to Lennar Homes. The owners are planning on buying a new property and moving, and that’s all I know. I want to share this memory video, as I want to share a lot of my previous work and videos, but PLEASE understand I am 100% focused on MY sanctuary now. I don’t have updates on Casper, what the outpost is doing, where they’re going, none of that. Deer leg, it’s what’s for dinner! For Big Mac and Bella at least! Underwater gator bite!! Or at least he tried. Casper taking a swing at me while I’m underneath him underwater, this also covers the myth that they can’t bite underwater, of course they can 😂. This was a year ago today! Now it might seem slow but this slow sweep is how they actually hunt for fish, the technique is to move slow enough to not cause an alarming disturbance and once close enough to feel prey the gator moves with speed and intent. This is how they hunt fish. I similarly move with slow but controlled actions to not instigate him. But does Casper know it me under him? I think so, but I also don’t think he really cares 😂. He will close his eyes underwater or put up his nictitating membrane (which limits vision) and rely solely on touch, utilizing his integumentary sensory organs to feel for prey. Pretty cool demonstration of his abilities and another emphasis that gators are not pets, he’s trained but not tame and I always have to be aware and careful. ~~~ This is a video of Casper from several years ago at Everglades outpost, which has sold to Lennar Homes. Rambo!! The screaming hairy armadillo!! Rambo is not your average backyard nine banded armadillo, he’s a screaming hairy armadillo! Named because he’s hairy and screams!! I included the scream at the beginning, they only scream when really afraid and we’ve only heard him do it once the day we got him, once he realized we’re his new family he never screamed again. #Armadillo #ScreamingHairyArmadillo #Animal #Animals #CuteAnimals #ExoticAnimals

Mushu the dwarf caiman!! The Cuvier’s dwarf caiman is the smallest member of the crocodilian family, maxing out around 4–5 feet. Native to forest streams in northern and central South America, they prefer slow-moving waters and stay hidden most of the day. Mushu loves hiding under his little log cave and coming out at night to hunt. Despite their small size, these animals require specialized care, and we strongly discourage keeping any crocodilian species as pets. Sadly, most “pet” crocodilians suffer from deformities and poor welfare due to improper care. (We have longer videos diving into that if you’re curious.) If you’d like to support Mushu and the other animals here, we appreciate tax-deductible donations via our website: bellowingacres.org 💚 @bellowingacres ❤️ Help support the sanctuary for free: Like, comment something kind, and share! Bella the bold leaping up to seize the day, or my arm, whatever comes first!! It’s always funny to me how in some videos when the alligators are calm all the comments are like “oh my God they’re so nice now they’re so chill now look how great” and then the next video you’re gonna get them jumping at your face. Dino is deadly! Dino went from a zombie gator barely alive to being legitimately deadly now! The sound of his jaws slamming shut was so loud and intense, the video audio does NOT do him justice!! When we first caught Dino he had a horribly infected leg & was largely unresponsive, which after multiple vet visits we learned he was also suffering from lead toxicity due to a lead fishing weight being stuck in his GI tract with a hook. After a lot of care, and a lot of moments thinking he wasn’t going to make it, and a lot of moments of him trying to kill me as we pulled him out for treatment, he’s doing much better! We still need to do chelation therapy to remove the lead trapped in his tissues, and surgery to remove the lead weight, but for now we’re just trying to get more weight on him to be able to survive the treatments. We’re giving him thiamine in his food to prevent the uptake of the lead currently in his system. If you’d like to learn more about the treatment plan and all the details, check it out on my GatorChris channel on the “main video app” I can’t name because of the algorithm. ~~~Our rescue gators are wild caught nuisance gators that would’ve otherwise been destroyed. Did you know tortoises can feel through their shells? 🐢 Their shells aren’t just armor—they’re living, sensitive tissue connected to their spine and ribcage. That means they can feel touch, pressure, and some even enjoy petting! This also means they cannot come out of their shells as is depicted in cartoons, which might seem obvious but it’s still a common question! This is Jumanji, our African spurred tortoise, the third largest tortoise species in the world!! Sadly these tortoises are often sold as babies to people who have no clue or capacity to properly take care of them and they often suffer major health issues in captivity under improper care. Jumanji here is a huge healthy boy and we’re happy to have him!! #Tortoise #sulcata #Animal #reptile #Animals #Rescue #RescueAnimals #AnimalRescue
Mushu the dwarf caiman! The Cuvier’s dwarf caiman is the smallest member of the crocodilian family, reaching an adult length of about 4 to 5 feet. Native to the freshwater rivers and streams of northern and central South America, this species is well-adapted to forested environments and is often found in slow-moving waters. Cuvier’s dwarf caimans tend to be shy and reclusive, often hiding under logs or in burrows during the day and emerging at night to hunt. Mushu spends most of his time under his little log cave. Their diet primarily consists of fish, amphibians, crustaceans, and small mammals. Although they’re small and cute, we do NOT recommend anyone try to get one as a pet, no crocodilian species should be considered a pet. I have long videos going into great detail, but the short of it is “pet” crocodilians almost always suffer physical deformities and awful lives due to improper care. ~~If you would like to donate to the care of the sanctuary animals, we greatly appreciate any support!!
