Peeps- this went slightly viral. The recipe is in my bio. Scroll down to recipes and its under “melted magic pie dough” I also added the instructions below: Ingredients: 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 228 grams 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1 tsp granulated sugar 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed 113 grams 3 tbsps whole milk 2 tbsps panko bread crumbs Directions: Whisk the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder in a large mixing bowl. Heat the butter and milk in either a 2-cup glass measuring cup, if you have one, or a glass bowl in the microwave on high, in three 30-second bursts, stirring in between each, or in a small saucepan on the stovetop over medium-high heat, until the butter is melted and the milk is steaming hot—the mixture doesn’t need to boil. Pour the hot liquid over the dry ingredients and stir with a fork until evenly incorporated and the mixture holds together when squeezed. Transfer the dough to the prepared pie plate and using your fingers, evenly press it onto the bottom and up the sides, crimping the edge with a fork, if you so desire. Sprinkle the bottom with the bread crumbs.
Peeps, please abandon your parchment paper when par-baking and reach for the tin foil. Also, please forgive me for the annoying way in which I pronounce the letter “p” in the VO. It might have been recorded in a crowded airport restaurant while waiting to board a plane to France . . .🤷♀️ #pie #baker #baking
Peeps, have you ever tried measuring by negative weight? Basically it means you use your scale to measure the weight of an ingredient by subtracting its weight from a known pre-set weight (like the weight of a cup of flour as seen here). Sounds tricky, but it’s not. Place your container of flour or sugar or whatever, on the scale, tare the scale to zero and remove the amount of that ingredient that you need for your recipe and place it right in your mixing bowl. Try it. Easy and fuss-free, just the way I like it. You, too? #baker #baking #CookingHacks
Recipe is linked in my bio 💜Peppermint Swirl Brownies are kind of my fave, as I adore the combo of peppermint and chocolate, as well as the fact that these are just very “holiday,” in the best way. The brownies are super fudgy (ie: not cakey) and the swirl, a deliciously minty contrast. #brownies #HolidayTreats #baker
Make your own cake flour, peeps, and thank me later. Measure a cup of flour (here I’m using a measuring cup, for it’s entertainment value, but I implore you to use a scale), remove 2 tablespoons of it and replace with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and voila! Cake flour. #bakingtiktok #cookingathometiktoktv #cookingtiktok
